The next version of Windows Phone, codenamed Tango, is rumoured to focus on supporting devices with lower specifications to allow Microsoft to push further into the entry-level smartphone and emerging market categories. Now comes word that Tango will also come with far broader language support than the current release of Windows Phone (codenamed Mango).
Mango supports 35 languages and Tango is set to add an additional 85 to bring the total of supported languages to 120. The revelation was apparently made at a developer event in India but the original source has now withdrawn the information (perhaps at Microsoft’s request?).
The same report adds that Windows Phone will also add support for C++ in a future version. It’s not clear if this will happen with Tango or later (Apollo?).
