HTC did not give us any hint as to the pricing of the Windows Phone 8X by HTC when it announced it last week. Fortunately, thanks to Amazon UK and Expansys UK now taking pre-orders, we have our first clues as to how much we will need to save up.
Amazon UK lists the Windows Phone 8X for £531.43. That translates to CA$846 (or US$863). Take the UK’s VAT and the amounts drop to about CA$700. It also shows a release date of November 8th.
Meanwhile, Expansys UK lists both the Windows Phone 8X by HTC and the Windows Phone 8S by HTC for £399.99 and £224.99 respectively. Removing VAT and converting gives us prices of CA$530 and CA$300. Expansys UK does not provide ETAs as to when either is expected to start shipping.
Carrier pricing (including Bell and Rogers in Canada and AT&T, T-Mobile USA, and Verizon in the U.S.) remains unknown for now. Could we see a CA$99.99 Windows Phone 8 by HTC when tied to a three-year contract?
