That list of alleged Windows Phone 8 devices just got a bit more interesting. Along a number of Nokia devices and the mysterious Juggernaut Alpha, it revealed the Samsung SGH-i687. Samsung has now effectively confirmed the presence of this device by publishing a UAProf (user agent profile) file for it on its website.
Digging into the file reveals a few interesting details. The browser is identified as Microsoft Internet Explorer 10.0. This suggests that it will be a Windows Phone 8 device as Windows Phone 7.5 is expected to remain on Internet Explorer 9.0. It also appears set to come with LTE support, a WVGA (800×480) display (the lowest resolution that Windows Phone 8 will support), and Bluetooth 2.1 with Bluetooth File Transfer support.
Could the SGH-i687 be a LTE-enabled successor to the Samsung Focus 2 (model SGH-i667) offered by AT&T? It seems plausible at this point.
