The Windows Marketplace for Mobile 6.x had originally been scheduled to shut down on May 9th. Microsoft has now pushed that date out and will now shut it down on May 17th instead. After this date, it will no longer be possible to browse, buy or download applications on Windows Mobile 6.x phones using the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace.
Any applications and games already installed will continue to work after May 17th but it will no longer be possible to download them again. Microsot also reminds users that a hard reset will wipe these apps and games (along with user-specific settings). If copies a required, it suggest s contacting the specific developers to see if they can provide them directly.
Microsoft gave no reason for the short stay of execution.
