Microsoft today announced that it will release Windows 8 Release Preview in the first week of June. The Release Preview follows February’s Consumer Preview, and should be the last major update before the final version is released. Essentially, these are beta releases
Microsoft did not reveal any details as to what new features could be included in Windows 8 Release Preview but it is expected to be feature complete or very nearly so.
As in the past, Windows 8 will be available in different (but fewer) editions: There will be three editions for x86 processors and a single edition called Windows RT for ARM processors.
Microsoft is widely expected to launch Windows 8 this fall.
