WIND Mobile today announced that it now has over 500,000 Canadian subscribers.
“We’ve worked hard to get to where we are today and I’m so proud of our team and everything we’ve been able to accomplish together,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of WIND Mobile. “The road wasn’t always easy but we are well on our way of achieving our goal of becoming Canada’s fourth national carrier.”
WIND Mobile had just over 450,000 subscribers at end of Q2 2012. Along with its latest promotions, devices (such as the HTC One S and Motorola RAZR V), the launch of new Home Zones such as Barrie and Woodstock appear to have given it a nice subscription boost in the last few weeks.
WIND Mobile launched its wireless service in December 2009. It is now part of VIMPELCOM Ltd., a global telecommunication company with over 200 million customers spanning 18 countries.
