We got a glimpse at how Foxconn builds Apple iPads in a Marketplace video last month. A new video gives us a glimpse now inside the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou. It accounts for 70% of all iPhone production where they build the Apple iPhone 4S.
The iFeng video follows a Chinese reporter, accompanied by Foxconn CEO Terry Gou, on a helicopter tour of the factory grounds and then inside to the assembly lines. We also get a glimpse inside a clean-room where the iPhone’s cameras are assembled.
The video is in Chinese but The Next Web has pulled a few interesting facts from it. The factory covers about 5.6 square kilometers and includes living quarters for some 115,000 workers. Empty grounds flown over will be used to expand the factory in the future. The plant currently manufactures some 200 tons of international cargo each and every day.
