When Research In Motion first unveiled its BlackBerry PlayBook, it promised that 4G and LTE versions would soon follow. Things have not gone as expected for the company and 4G and LTE PlayBooks remained the topic of rumours until they cleared the FCC last month. Now pictures of a 4G model have surfaced courtesy of CrackBerry forum user.
From the pictures posted through the thread, it appears that the units are running a new version of BlackBerry Tablet OS numbered 127.0.0.2980 which sports an icon for BlackBerry Messenger. The current Tablet OS 2.0 version(2.0.0.7971) still lacks BBM but it may finally be in the cards with an imminent update.
BlackBerry World 2012 is taking place next month and it is likely that RIM will finally announce its 4G PlayBook models at the event.
