When the Nokia Lumia 610 was unveiled, it sported one feature that other Lumia devices did not have: Tethering support. The Nokia Lumia 900 will have it when it comes out but both the currently available Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 don’t have it.
Nokia has now confirmed in a Nokia Connects interview that both devices will gain this feature in an upcoming Zune update. No timeframe was given but the update is “coming soon.”
On a different note, it remains unclear whether existing devices will be upgraded to Apollo, the next major version of Windows Phone. Asked whether the Nokia 900, its current flagship device, would support the upcoming Apollo update, the manufacturer would only reply that it “cannot comment on unannounced platform releases” but promised “updates and features throughout the life of the product.”
