TELUS today announced that it has expanded its LTE network coverage from the core Vancouver area to include Burnaby, New Westminster, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, and South Delta.
“We are committed to offering you the best customer experience and launching our 4G LTE service across Metro Vancouver and in numerous other B.C. communities is an excellent example of that,” said Mike Black, TELUS vice-president of Customer Solutions Delivery in B.C. “With an LTE device our customers can enjoy the fastest wireless technology available in the world today – we are continuing to expand this new technology, community by community, so that by the end of the year nearly 90 per cent of B.C. residents are expected to have access. It’s an ambitious undertaking.”
TELUS announced back in March that it would invest CA$3 billion over the next three years in British Columbia. Part of that investment had been earmarked to expand its LTE network in the province.
TELUS’ 4G LTE offers peak download speeds of up to 75 Mbps with average speeds falling in the 12 to 25 Mbps range.
