The theory that Sony could go with a single letter naming convention for some of its 2012 smartphones got another boost today. We already know that the Sony Ericsson LT26i “Nozomi” officially became the Sony Xperia S. The Sony ST25i “Kumquat” also appears set to use a single letter as its model name as the Sony Xperia U. It now looks like Sony LT22i Nypon will be known as the Sony Xperia P.
All three devices are now posted on Postel, the Indonesian Telecoms Regulatory body’s website:
A couple of pictures of the Sony LT22i Nypon surfaced last week. It is rumoured to be very similar to the Xperia S but with a 1GHz dual-core ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset, a 4-inch qHD display, and an 8MP camera.
