A leaked document has given us a glimpse at what could be Sony Mobile Communications’ 2012 smartphone roadmap. If accurate, some 12 devices will be launched between March and September. While specific to the Indian market, it should apply to the rest of the world with some small scheduling differences.
A number of devices on the list have already surfaced. The Xperia S was announced at CES. The Pepper (or MT27i) was the topic of earlier rumours and is set for an April release alongside the Kumquat and Nypon.
Another five devices should follow in the summer. Based on price alone, the Sony Hayabusa could be Sony’s summer flagship device. Three more devices would then follow in the past. The Mint I, the priciest device on the list, could be Sony’s flagship device for the holiday season. It’s unclear if the rumoured LT28at could be either the Hayabusa or the Mint I.
All devices listed will apparently run Android.
2012 is shaping up to be a promising year for Sony.
