As rumoured, Samsung will host a second Samsung Unpacked 2012 event in Berlin on August 29th. Invitations have now been sent out for the event. Bearing the tag line “When magical moments come alive”, the invitation (as usual) reveals little about what will be announced although that wand/pen might be a good clue.
Past rumours suggest that Samsung will announce its Galaxy Note 2 “phablet” at the event. The latest generation of this smartphone/tablet hybrid is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display, a quad-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It could also sport LTE connectivity (as a dual-core processor variant) and a 12 or 13MP camera.
There is good news for those of us unable to attend in person: Samsung will livestream the event.
Samsung is also hosting a separate event in North America on August 15th. Conflicting rumours suggest that the Galaxy Note 2 will be announced at this event. It’s unlikely that it will use two major events to unveil the same product. It’s more likely that one event will focus on the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet and the other on the Galaxy Note 2.
Samsung last hosted Unpacked events to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Nexus.
