It would appear that Samsung Poland simply let the cat out the bag a bit too early. After announcing that sales of the Samsung Galaxy S III had topped 30 million units, the Facebook and Twitter messages vanished. An official confirmation of the milestone has now been released by Samsung. JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division, said:
The Galaxy S III continues to be a runaway favorite with customers around the world. Meeting this sales milestone in five months set another record for Samsung, and we are extremely proud and yet motivated to continue to provide our customers with products that they love. On behalf of Samsung Mobile, appreciate millions of customers aroudn the world that have chosen the Samsung Galaxy S III.
It took about 157 days (about 5 months) for the Samsung Galaxy S III to hit the 30 million mark. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S II sold “only” 10 million units in the same time frame back in 2011. A Galaxy S III is sold every 0.45 seconds!
