Samsung yesterday outlined the U.S. launch plans for its Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) and Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) tablets. These are the successors to the original Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 10.1 and come with modest specification upgrades as well as Android 4.0. The announcement comes after recent rumours suggested that Samsung would delay the launch of these tablets.
Samsung will offer the Galaxy Tab 2.0 (7.0) for US$249.99 and the larger Galaxy Tab 2.0 (10.1) for US$399.99. The former will be out on April 22nd with the latter to follow on May 13th. There is no word yet on whether Samsung will launch these tablets in Canada in the same timeframe.
Samsung is also launching two media players, the Galaxy Player 3.6 and the Galaxy Player 4.2 for US$149.99 and US$199.99 respectively. Both will be powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor and Android 2.3. Both will come with 8GB of internal storage expandable to 40GB. The first is available now with the latter to follow on May 13th.
