The Samsung Galaxy Note II was to have been the first Samsung device with an unbreakable display. That honour now could instead now fall to the Samsung Galaxy S IV. According to Reuters, the latest smartphone is already in development as “Project J”
The report does not provide any details about this unbreakable display. Could it be Samsung’s own UBP (Unbreakable Plane) display? Or could it be Corning’s upcoming Willow Glass? UBS analyst Nicolas Gaudois indicates it could be a UBP display. Stanford Bernstein analyst Mark Newman goes even further: “Either the Galaxy S IV or S V will have unbreakable and even possibly flexible and foldable displays by 2014.”
Other rumoured specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S IV include a quad-core processor, a larger display offering 441 PPI, likely a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, and a 13MP camera.
Reuters also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S IV could be out as early as April 2013, about a month earlier than the Galaxy S III’s international release.
