Samsung today announced the launch of its much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone in 28 countries, including the UK and France. Samsung expects that, by July, the Galaxy S III will be available in 145 countries through 296 carriers.
Samsung has also confirmed that the Pebble Blue version will be in short supply over the next few weeks due to manufacturing challenges. Its statement about the issue reads:
“Samsung’s GALAXY S III Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue color and special hyperglaze material. In order to meet the highest internal quality standards and to provide the best quality GALAXY S III to customers, a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks. Samsung is working hard to ensure that customers will get the Pebble Blue colored devices as soon as possible.”
Canada and the US are not part of this initial wave. A launch here could take place as early as June 20th.
