Samsung Electronics Canada today announced that the Galaxy Camera [product information] is coming to Canada on December 7th. Billed as “the first truly Connected Camera,” the Samsung Galaxy Camera is a hybrid device that blends the capabilities of a traditional point-and-shoot camera with those of Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean devices.
“The GALAXY Camera marks the next stage of evolution in the history of the camera and we are extremely excited to make it available to Canadian customers today,” said Paul Brannen, Vice President, Enterprise Business Solutions at Samsung Canada. “Combining world class mobile and digital imaging technologies, The GALAXY Camera gives users the total freedom to take vivid, high quality pictures and videos and share them instantly through their favorite social networking sites or with family and friends without the restrictions of a conventional camera.”
With either 4G or 3G (depending on the model) and Wi-Fi connectivity, users can immediately post their photos to their preferred social networks including Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. With access to the Google Play Store, they can also download and use their favourite camera apps, including Instagram. It also comes with a number of Samsung features such as Share Shot.
The Samsung GALAXY Camera will be available on December 7th at Black’s Photography and The Samsung Store, located in Metrotown Mall in Burnaby, B.C. It is expected to be sold unlocked so that you can bring it to your carrier of choice. Pricing information was not announced.
