Samsung has confirmed that it will formally unveil the Galaxy Note successor at the Unpacked 2012 event it will hold on August 29th. “We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29,” a Samsung spokesman said today.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to come with a slightly larger 5.5-inch display, a quad-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. LTE connectivity and an improved camera could also be in the cards.
As for what Samsung plans to announce at its August 15th North American event. Perhaps the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet or some carrier-specific announcements?
Samsung will livestream its Unpacked event on August 29th for those not in Berlin on that day.
Update: Samsung has now told AllThingsD that “We can confirm the unpacked event will take place on August 29th, but we cannot disclose information on what will be unveiled.” It looks like someone confirmed something that they should not have.
