According to two separate reports, Apple will launch the iPhone 5 (assuming that this is even its name) on September 21st. French website App4Phone cites a Chinese source specializing in the manufacture of accessories at one the three largest factories in Hong Kong. For its part, PhoneArena cites an “employee working for a large U.S. retailer.”
The September 21st date falls within the general range that previous rumours have suggested. It would follow the launch of the iPhone 4S by about 11 months.
The Apple iPhone 5 will reportedly come with LTE connectivity, a larger 16:9 aspect ratio 4-inch display, 1GB RAM, a smaller dock connector, and NFC. On the software side, tt should also run on iOS 6, the next version of Apple’s operating system, and feature Facebook integration and an improved version of Siri.
