Supporting earlier rumours that Samsung would announce the Galaxy Note 2 at IFA 2012 in Berlin, the Korean Digital Daily is reporting that Samsung will hold a press event called ‘Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 Episode 2″ on August 30th as part of IFA. The star of the show is to be none other than the Galaxy Note 2.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display. Plans to use an unbreakable plane (UBP) display have reportedly been cancelled although the technology will show up in future Samsung devices. Despite the larger display, the device should be no wider than the first Galaxy Note likely thanks to thinner bezels. A quad-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean are also in the cards perhaps with a dual-core LTE-enabled variant (like the Samsung Galaxy S III). The camera could also be upgraded to a 12 or 13MP camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should be available later in October.
