Samsung is already testing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S III according to SamMobile sources. Testing appears to be going well with Samsung being “almost ready” to provide an update to customers. No date is confirmed but an August or September time frame appears likely.
The report adds that Samsung has also begun to test Android 4.1 on the Galaxy S II. An update could well be in the cards if further testing goes smoothly. The success that Samsung has had with the Galaxy S II may well play a factor in the company’s decision to offer the update as well.
Other devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Note, could also see updates in the future.
For its part, Samsung has yet to make any announcement about Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for any of its devices.
