The rumours continue fast and furious as we get closer to the May 3rd event where Samsung will unveil its Samsung Galaxy device. “A source close to the company” has told The Verge that Samsung will indeed unveil its next Galaxy S flagship device at the event. Whether this device will be introduced as the Galaxy S III remains to be seen.
The source added that irrespective of the name, the new device will come with a quad-core processor and promises “superlative benchmark performance.” It remains unclear what specific processor will be used but a Samsung Exynos one is a strong possibility. It is also quite possible that there will be a number of variants (as was done with the Galaxy S II) with different processors to meet different region and carrier requirements.
If nothing else, we should now be able to rule out that this event will anything but a new flagship device. Just how much of an upgrade this will be remains to be seen though.
