In today’s Apple iPhone rumour, BGR has learned “from a trusted source” that the next-generation iPhone will come with 1GB RAM, twice the amount of RAM of the current iPhone 4S, integrated 4G LTE radios and NFC chipset.
BGR also disputed previous rumours that mass production had begun. It reports instead that it is currently in the EVT3 stage, the third revision of the engineering test stage. Once EVT is complete, it will still need to complete the DVT (design verification test) phase before it hits production. Final production is not scheduled to start until later this summer. It is possible that Apple is currently manufacturing engineering samples and production of some components may also have started.
Apple is widely expected to announce its next iPhone (the iPhone 5?) in September or October. It is also expected to come with a larger 16:9 aspect ratio 4-inch display.
