HTC’s One device lineup with the HTC One X, One S, and One V, is now nearly six months old. A hardware refresh is likely coming soon for the back-to-school and holiday seasons. First up could be the HTC Proto, a potential successor for the HTC One V.
According to The Verge, the HTC Proto will improve upon the entry-level HTC One device in a number of ways. Its processor will be bumped up from its single-core one to a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225. It will also come with a larger 4-inch WVGA SLCD. Other specifications, such as HSPA connectivity, a 5MP camera, 4GB of onboard storage, and 512MB of RAM, could remain unchanged.
There is no word on availability or pricing so far.
HTC’s refreshed HTC One lineup could also include devices such as the HTC dlx and HTC One XXL.
