If the latest rumour is to be believed, the oft-rumoured HTC dlx may not be. Instead, it appears that the HTC 6435LVW, last seen in blurry pictures, is in fact the HTC DIx. A “trusted source” has told HTC Source that it will indeed come with a 5-inch 1080p HD 480ppi display and revealed some new specification details.
The report indicates that the HTC DIx will come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. A second notification LED for alerts will be located on the back of the device near the camera. Sadly, it appears at this time that the HTC DIx will not come with active pen support or a microSD card slot for external storage. The battery could also be non-removable.
Earlier rumours suggested that the HTC DIx would come with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor and a display offering “only” 418ppi. These latest specifications suggest that HTC may have decided to up its game with this device.
The official name of the HTC 6435LVW branding has not been revealed yet. One suggestion is that it could be called the DROID Incredible X (hence the DIx acronym) when finally announced, perhaps as early as September 19th.
