The HTC PM63100 with its 1.7GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 720p display may not be HTC’s next flagship device. That honour may be reserved to a different device according to a report by Digitimes. They report that HTC is readying a device with a 5-inch 1080p display for launch in the September or October time frame.
The report adds that the display will have the rather odd resolution of 1794 by 1080 pixels. If you add in 126 additional vertical lines that Android now reserves for its onscreen navigation buttons, you end up with a display running at 1920 by 1080 or full HD.
Rumours of such a device go back a number of months back to a leaked Verizon product roadmap. If accurate, this device could also come with HTC Sense 5 and a Scribe pen. Could this device be none other than the rumoured HTC dlx (also known as the HTC6435LVW)?
