The Google Nexus 7 tablet family may soon grow to include a second model. Citing a “very well-placed insider,” MoDaCo reports that Google and partner ASUS are getting ready to launch a 3G-enabled Nexus 7 model.
ASUS is already ramping up production with a launch planned about six weeks from now. This would place the tablet’s release some time in mid-October but the specific launch date and markets have yet to be confirmed.
The report adds that the inclusion of 3G connectivity will be the only hardware change made to the tablet.
