Rumour: BlackBerry 10 hardware ready ahead of schedule

Research In MotionThere is some potentially great news for Research In Motion today. N4BB has learned from one of its sources that RIM is ahead of schedule on the design and manufacture of its first BlackBerry 10 device. Past rumours had suggested that this first device would be announced in August with a launch in October. It now appears that while the announcement will still take place in August, the launch itself could be moved up to the first half of September.

RIM has apparently completed the design of the hardware and the device has been manufactured. No further changes are expected on that front. It even includes the Qualcomm LTE chipset RIM was waiting for.

While the hardware is ready, RIM is still working to finish BlackBerry 10 itself.

The report adds that the first BlackBerry 10 device will launch in a colour never before seen on a BlackBerry device.

Lastly, it also looks like development of the first BlackBerry 10 device with a physical keyboard is also ahead of schedule. Apparently, the BlackBerry Nevada has also reached the final production stage.

Finally some good news for RIM…
