It’s quite likely at this point that Google and ASUS will unveil their co-developed tablet, the Google Asus Nexus 7, at next week’s Google I/O. Digitimes is the latest to indicate that the 7-inch tablet will sell for US$199 when it becomes available in July.
The report adds that the Google Asus Nexus 7 will only support Wi-Fi connectivity and will not have a rear-facing camera. It will have a front-facing one for video conferencing. It will also come preloaded with Google’s Chrome browser.
Digitimes also suggest that ASUS will launch its own 7-inch tablet. It could launch in August and sell for between US$159 and US$179. Could this be the ASUS Eee Pad MeMO ME171 (with the MeMO ME370T having become the Google tablet) revealed back CES 2012?
