The Apple iPhone 5 could be among the thinnest smartphones in the world when it is announced later this year (possibly on September 12th). A report published by the Taiwan-based print publication Apple Daily was picked up by the Chinese blog Apple.pro.
According to the report, the Apple iPhone 5 will measure 123.83 by 58.47 by 7.6 millimeters. If so, it will be thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S III (7.7 millimeters) and the HTC One S (7.8 millimeters) but not quite thin enough to beat devices such as the upcoming Huawei Ascend P1 S. In comparison, the Apple iPhone 4S measures 115.2 by 58.6 by 9.3 millimeters / 140 grams
The report goes on to confirm the presence of 4G LTE and NFC. It also contradicts a number of other rumours. It reports that the smaller Dock Connector will use 19 pins (not 8) and that the iPhone will come with a nano-SIM card rather than a microSIM one.
