Rogers today announced its Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 device lineup for the upcoming launch of Microsoft’s new operating systems. Rogers had already announced some of these devices but others are new.
Across all Windows 8 devices, you’ll now have a complete cross-platform experience making it easier to switch between devices to easily access your best friend’s phone number from your tablet, grab your photos from last night’s party from your PC or quickly email your late assignment from your smartphone. Windows Phone 8 also includes great features such as multi-core processing, improved display resolutions, NFC, microSD storage expansion, and lenses for getting creative with your pictures.
Rogers will offer the following devices:
- Nokia Lumia 920: Offered exclusively from Rogers in black
- Samsung ATIV S
- Windows Phone 8X by HTC: Available either as a Blue 16GB or exclusively as a Black 8GB model
- Samsung ATIV Smart PC: Available exclusively to Rogers customers
Rogers also announced a suite of exclusive applications for the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms. These include:
- Rogers My Account on Windows 8 tablets: To manage your wireless account
- Rogers Anyplace TV Live for Windows Phone 8 and Rogers Anyplace TV (on demand) for Windows 8 Tablets: Featuring live games, news and channels such as Citytv, CBC, Teletoon, and Family Channel
- Rogers One Number for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 Tablet
Rogers did not specify specific availability and pricing details but expect these details shortly as Windows 8 launches on October 26th and Windows Phone 8 on October 29th.
Rogers also announced it will be “the preferred Canadian wireless partner for the launch of Windows 8” thanks to its alliance with Microsoft.
