Earlier this year, Rogers announced plans to extend its LTE network to 28 more cities by end of 2012. It today made good on part of that promise with the announcement that 10 additional cities would have LTE coverage by October 1st. These include Kingston, Edmonton, Quebec City, Oakville, Burlington, London, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Barrie.
The carrier also promised that further expansion is planned for the rest of 2012 and 2013. By the end of 2012, it plans to have 60% of the Canadian population covered by its LTE network.
The Rogers LTE network promises maximum network theoretical download speeds of up to 100Mbps with typical speeds falling in the 12 to 40 Mbps range.
