Right on schedule, Rogers has flipped the switch on its LTE network (and that of flanker brand Fido) in 18 additional Canadian markets. With this announcement, Rogers has met its goal of offering LTE to 60% of the Canadian population.
“We’re proud to bring LTE first to many more Canadians and we’re hearing great feedback from consumers who love the speed and the quality that LTE delivers,” said John Boynton, Rogers Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
Rogers is the first carrier to offer LTE in Saskatoon and Regina in Saskatchewan, St. Catherines/Niagara, Oshawa/Pickering/Ajax, Windsor, and Sudbury in Ontario, as well as Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières in Quebec. Coverage has also been extended to Victoria, Abbotsford, Kelowna, Kingston, Edmonton, Quebec City, Oakville/Burlington/Hamilton, London/Kitchener/Waterloo, Cambridge and Barrie.
Further LTE network expansion is planned for both the remainder of this year and into 2013.
