On the heels of yesterday’s report that Research In Motion cancelled the BlackBerry Milan, BGR has learned that the company is now focusing on a single BlackBerry 10 device, the BlackBerry London. The BlackBerry Colt, once rumoured to be the first BlackBerry 10 device, has also been cancelled.
RIM is already in talks with carriers about the BlackBerry London. The report reconfirms that it looks much like leaked pictures have suggested but it has undergone some small but unspecified design changes.
It’s not the first time that a report suggested that the BlackBerry Colt had been cancelled. BGR also reported this back in November.
BGR adds that the Milan was not a BlackBerry 10 device as past rumours suggested. Instead, it was to have been a new BlackBerry 7 model featuring a different design. It appears that RIM found little interest for it among carriers who did not want to carry two BlackBerry 7 devices with similar vertical slider form factors.
No mention is made of the other rumoured BlackBerry 10 devices, the Lisbon and the Nevada. Are they cancelled as well, on the backburner, or perhaps BlackBerry 7 devices like the Milan.
