While a Microsoft developer evangelist claims that all existing Windows Phone devices will be upgradeable to Windows Phone 8, “a trusted source close to Microsoft” has told The Verge that this is untrue. Supporting earlier claims, the report indicates that there will not be an upgrade from Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) to Windows Phone 8 (Apollo).
For its part, Microsoft has yet to officially confirm one or the other. Beyond that, we have nothing to share about future releases.”
For those keeping track, it’s now 2 to 1 in favour of no upgrades.
