Motorola and Verizon are likely to introduce a new smartphone (or perhaps more than one) at their upcoming event on September 5th. Bloomberg has learned that this handset could come with an edge-to-edge display. Unlike most devices, it would have either very thin bezels or none at all with the screen effectively taking up the entire front of the device. There is no word on how large the display will be.
The edge-to-edge display could well be a differentiating characteristic that would allow this Motorola device to stand out from the crowd of devices, including the newest iPhone and a number of Windows Phone devices, expected to be announced this month.
As for other details revealed, the handset will be powered by Google Android and come with LTE connectivity.
It remains to be seen if this device is none other than the Motorola Droid RAZR M 4G LTE which was leaked late last month. If so, it could sport a 4.3-inch qHD (540×960) Super AMOLED Advanced display with Gorilla Glass 2.
