September 5th looks set to be quite the day in the mobility space. Nokia and Microsoft have already booked that date for an event where they are expected to unveil the first Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphone. Now Motorola and Verizon have just announced an event of their own on the same day (and also in New York), promising that it will be “the day’s main event.”
This will be Motorola’s first major event since it was acquired by Google. As for what it and Verizon will unveil, the invitation reveals little. The Verge suspects that it could be the rumoured DROID RAZR HD given the reference to “display.”
