Speaking at the Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft COO Kevin Turner today confirmed rumours that Microsoft would open its first store in Toronto later this year. It will be located at the Yorkdale Mall.
The Toronto location will be the first Microsoft store to open outside of the U.S. but don’t expect it to be the last. “You’ll see the store brand continue to go out, and go out into the world. We’re going to continue to tell the Microsoft story through our stores,” said Turner during the announcement.
Like other Microsoft stores, it promises to offer a selection of Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and Xbox products and accessories. It will also feature a video wall, Surface tables, an Answers Desk (Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s Genius Bar), and more.
