Microsoft earlier this month confirmed that its first Canadian Microsoft Store would open on November 16th at the Yorkdale Mall in Toronto. It turns out that Microsoft is planning to have more than one store in Canada in time for the holidays. It will also open a number of pop-up brick-and-mortar Holiday Stores in Burnaby (Metropolis at Metrotown), Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall), Toronto (Eaton Centre), and Vancouver (Oakridge Centre).
Like permanent Microsoft stores, these pop-up stores will carry a selection of Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and Xbox products and accessories.
Specific opening dates were not provided but a Microsoft spokesperson promised that “additional details” would be provided in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen if they will be open by October 26th, the day Windows 8 launches.
Microsoft will also open Holiday Stores across the U.S. A total of 28 U.S. stores were announced. Locations include New York City (The Shops at Columbus Circle), San Fransisco (San Francisco Centre), Miami (Dadeland Mall), and Las Vegas (Fashion Show Mall)
