In late August, LG unveiled the LG Optimus G. Today, it officially announced the launch of its latest flagship device. Aside from its impressive specifications, it also promises a new user interface that introduces a concept called cross-tasking: “If multi-tasking applies to running various applications at the same time, cross-tasking applies to complex tasks that can be completed simultaneously without having to compromise other tasks.”
“The Optimus G is a groundbreaking premium device not only in the history of LG but also in the smartphone industry,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the Optimus G, users will be able to experience unsurpassed UX features that will allow them to perform tasks that really enhance their daily lives.”

LG’s cross-tasking UI will offer features like QSlide Function which displays two different full screens simultaneously on one display, Live Zooming during streaming, and Dual Screen Dual Play which not only allows mirroring between the smartphone and a TV but can also display different content on each screen wirelessly.
The LG Optimus G will first launch in Korea next week with key global markets to follow in October. There is no word yet on Canadian availability but don’t be surprised if its makes its way here.
