There is good news for owners of recent LG smartphones and tablets. The Korean manufacturer today provided a rough timeline as to when it will update a number of devices to Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. All told, the updates will start in November and run into the first quarter of 2013.
Things get started in November with the LG Optimus LTE II. The LG Optimus G will follow in December. The Optimus Vu and and Optimus Vu 2 tablets will receive their updates in Q1 2013. Needless to say, models sold through carriers could see some delays due to the additional certifications required.
It remains to be seen if LG will provide Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates to additional devices.
