IFA 2012: Samsung announces Galaxy Camera – a digital camera powered by Android 4.1

Samsung Galaxy CameraSamsung today unveiled not only the Galaxy Note II and Windows Phone 8-powered ATIV S but the Galaxy Camera, a device that combines a digital camera with Android 4.1 and wireless network connectivity to create what it calls “a brand new type of device.”

Unlike smartphone cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Camera sports a 21x optical zoom lens that can be controlled either by button or touchscreen. It also comes with the Photo Wizard app which offers 35 photo editing features and a Smart Content Manager app that lets you manage your pictures by creating folders, tagging faces, and even suggesting which pictures to delete when they don’t come out as desired.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera will be available in two connectivity options: One with 3G and another with 4G. Both will also support Wi-Fi. Pricing details were not announced.
