Huawei first announced its quad-core MediaPad 10 FHD tablet back at MWC 2012. It promised a Q2 launch but we are still waiting for it. A sign that it may finally be about to happen is the release of a promotional video for the “fast-performing tablet with unsurpassed audio-visual entertainment features:”
Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD specifications:
- Processor: Huawei 1.5GHz quad-core K3
- Operating system: Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- Cellular connectivity: Optional LTE/HSPA+
- Display: 10-inch HD (1920×1200) IPS
- Input: Capacitive touchscreen
- Memory: 2GB RAM
- Storage: 8GB onboard and microSD cards (and up to 160GB of cloud storage)
- Rear-facing camera: 8MP AF with dual LED flash
- Front-facing camera: 1.3MP
- Dimensions / weight: 8.8mm thin / 580 grams
Like the ASUS Transformer tablets, it has an optional keyboard kit that transforms it into a touchscreen laptop
Huawei looks to have a busy fall ahead of it. It recently launched the Ascend P1 (now available from WIND Mobile) and both the slimmer Ascend P1 S and the Ascend D quad should also launch soon. Hopefully the MediaPad 10 FHD tablet will launch as well. For its part, Huawei has yet to provide availability and pricing details.
