The HTC One S was codenamed HTC Ville during its development. It may be about to be joined by a slightly different variant if leaked documents obtained by BriefMobile about the HTC Ville C turn out to be accurate. The device could be HTC’s response to Qualcomm’s difficulties meeting demand for its 28nm Snapdragon S4 SoC.
While most specifications match those of the HTC One S, there are two notable differences. The HTC Ville C will use an older and somewhat slower S3 chipset, the dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 clocked at 1.2GHz (the 1.7GHz listed is apparently a typo). It will also sport HTC Sense 4.5. This could be a relatively big update over HTC Sense 4.0 which is found on current HTC One devices.
There is no word yet on availability or pricing.
