HTC Vertex tablet shows itself on benchmark websites

Just days after an HTC spokesperson suggested that the company was working on a “unique” tablet, a new HTC tablet has surfaced on two benchmark websites. Entries at AnTuTu and NenaMark 2 have revealed the HTC Vertex (VertexF_PRM specifically) as well as a few details.

The AnTuTu benchmark does little beyond showing that the device was tested. The NenaMark site reveals that the HTC Vertex to be powered by a 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor and Google Android 4.0.3. The display offers a WXGA (1280×800) resolution but the size is not specified. At this point, it could either be a 7-inch display or a 10.1-inch one. Or will HTC’s go for a unique display size?

Notebook Italia adds that it expects the HTC Vertex to come with a 2MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front-facing one. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Beats Audio are also expected.

HTC has had little success so far with its tablets. It went as far as deciding to not offer Android 4.0 upgrades for both the HTC Flyer and HTC Jetstream likely due to low sales volumes and the effort required to prepare the upgrades.
