With the Galaxy Nexus starting to get long in the tooth (in smartphone terms), anticipation is building for Google’s next Nexus device. Better yet, earlier rumours suggest that it may have more than one device up its sleeve this time around. A new tip received by GSMArena suggests that HTC could be readying such a device and it could be none other than the oft-rumoured HTC 5-inch tablet better known as the DROID Incredible X or One X5. It could be known as the Google Nexus 5.
The report adds that the new Nexus device would run Android 4.1.2. The new version would sport a number of bug fixes, Project Butter improvements, lockscreen improvements and other minor tweaks. On the hardware side, the Google Nexus 5 would be powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and come with a 5-inch 1080p display, LTE connectivity, up to 64GB of onboard memory, a 12MP rear camera and a 2MP front one, and a 2,500mAh battery.
Google’s Nexus upcoming refresh is promising to be quite exciting. Let’s hope that the Google Nexus 5 is joined by devices from LG, Samsung, and Sony who have also all been rumoured to be working on Nexus devices as well.
