The rumoured HTC One XXL may have turned up on the GLBenchmark website as the HTC PM63100. The site reveals that the device in question is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and Google Android 4.0.4. Let’s hope that it ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean instead. It also comes with a 720p display of an unspecified size.
The HTC PM63100 is codenamed Evitareul, a very similar name to the codename (Evita) used for the original HTC One XL (the international version of the HTC One X with LTE). The modified name suggests that it could well be its successor.
As for what the specific processor is, we can only speculate at this time although PocketNow suggests it will be a Tegra 3. Past rumours suggested that it would come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 instead. Will we see NVIDIA’s first quad-core Tegra 3 with an LTE modem in this device? It’s plausible now that NVIDIA has its Icera 410 modem chipset ready to go.
The benchmarks’s ‘android.os.Build.FINGERPRINT’ suggests that the HTC PM63100 could be headed to AT&T. If so, there would be a good chance we would see it in Canada as well.
All in all, all we have is a lot of conjecture and the promise of a very exciting new HTC flagship later this year.
