Google today announced that registration for the upcoming Google I/O 2012 will open on March 27th at 0700 PDT. Mark your calendars as the event has sold out quickly in past years.
The event will take place over three days rather than the two seen in previous years. Along with a longer event have come higher ticket prices though. General Attendee admission is now US$900.
Last year’s event was marked by the Chromebook introduction, the Android 3.1 announcement, and confirmation that the then upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich would reunite smartphone and tablet Android operating systems into a single one. As for what we can expect this year, perhaps Google will announce the next version of Android (likely as Jelly Bean) and a Google-branded tablet.
Google I/O 2012 will take place from June 27th to 29th at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco.
