Before Google announcing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the Google Nexus 7 tablet earlier today, it kicked off Google I/O 2012 by announcing that over 400 million Android devices had now been activated.
As impressive as this is, it looks like Android is still growing fast. Android activations now top one million per day. This amounts to 12 devices being activated every second.
It was only earlier this month that Andy Rubin, SVP of Mobile at Google, indicated that Google was activating 900,000 Android devices per day. Back in December 2011, that number stood at a mere 700,000 activations a day.
